What our Guests Say!

I spent the last week at the Baines House Bed and Breakfast Inn. What a wonderful quaint, and lovely place to stay. The accomodations were wonderful, and there were so many nooks and crannies to explore while you were there. The owners were so delightful, and treated me like a queen. The two girls that help in running the Inn were also wonderful. They were always willing to meet any need I had. I went with a friend, and here room was adjacent to mine, with a wonderful little breeze way between the rooms. I highly recommend this Inn if you are in Salado, Texas.

What an incredible experience! Cozy, private cottages. Incredible rustic and charming decor. Very hospitable service. NO PHONES, NO TELEVISIONS! We survived. Treat yourself if you're ever in Salado. The Russells were so accomadating and interesting, sharing the history of the property. The food was wonderful and home-made. We easily walked to the shopping areas.

I have now stayed here 4 times and the last 3 were at Christmas time. I made my Dec. 2013 reservation last December because I know they usually sell out far in advance. The last 3 visits I have stayed in the cottage on the back of the property and it is quiet and homey. The refrigerator has Coke and water (no Diet Coke, which is all I drink so bring your own) The breakfasts are always wonderful - the desserts are especially great. Yes, dessert at breakfast. How can you beat that! If you are lucky enough to get the flan, you will never forget it.

We have stayed at the Baines B and B before and loved it.....Went back and loved it all over again....Rod, Sheryl, and Tux the dog door greeter were so gracious and I must say I would never tire of their company.....They have quite a story to tell of their many travels and how the Baines House evolved....History for sure!!! It is close to town as well as Austin....but you might be enjoying yourselves so much you just don't want to leave....Put your feet up, choose your beverage of choice and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!!
